GORDON BENNETT ENTRY FORM 2021

The event is open to all cars registered before 31st December 1930.

The four classes are:

ANTIQUE: Class A
Prior to 31st Dec, 1904

VETERAN: Class B
1st Jan, 1905 – 31st Dec, 1918

VINTAGE: Class C
1st Jan, 1919 – 31st Dec, 1926

VINTAGE: Class C1
1st Jan, 1927 – 31st Dec, 1930

All classes of cars are eligible for the Overall Prize.

At our IVVCC International Gordon Bennett Rally in June 2019 we would never have expected that we would have been unable to hold the 2020 event and that due to continuing COVID-19 restrictions we felt it would not be possible to hold the event in June 2021 as intended. However, we feel it is important to mark this premier event in the IVVCC 2021 Calendar and are, therefore, happy to announce details of a special 2021 IVVCC Gordon Bennett Rally on Saturday 10th July 2021. The event is open to all cars registered before 31st December 1930 and the IVVCC are happy to announce that whilst we have substantially reduced the entry price for 2021, it is being subsidised by our good friends in Barrett Private Insurances and Chubb on this particular occasion.

We are delighted to announce that Frank Hussey, has again agreed to be Clerk of the Course, assisted by Ian McCulloch and they and their team are now planning a one-day rally, strictly in line with Government and Health regulations at that time. This year, in response to a number of comments received from previous entrants we will ask people to choose which speed they will maintain, i.e., 18 or 24 mph and you should indicate on the entry form which one you prefer. You should also advise if you require parking for the car and a trailer at start of Rally.

The Rally Registration will commence at 9.30am on Saturday, 10th July in Bagnelstown, Co. Carlow. The first car will depart at 11.00am, with a dedicated lunch stop where lunch is being provided, between 12 noon and 2.00pm, and the return route is to Bagnelstown, by the latest 5.00pm. We will have Marshals enroute using manual regularity recordings.

Prizes will be awarded to the winner in each category and an IVVCC trophy will be given to the Overall Winner and second Runner-Up after the results are announced in the foregoing days. The route book, plus full regularity information, the number of your car numberplate/numerical roundels, vouchers for morning refreshments for 2 people at registration and lunch stop, will be emailed to all entrants prior to the event. It will only be necessary to collect your physical car numberplate/numerical roundel at registration, between 9.30am and 10.30am. As entries are currently restricted to 100 cars, early registration is recommended. This number may increase/decrease as Government and health regulations are clarified at that time.

We will send additional information to all entrants for entries received by closing date Friday, 25th June 2021.
