Powerscourt Estate ENTRY FORM 2018

This is the 41st occasion that we have been privileged to accept the hospitality of the management of Powerscourt Estate and are able to hold our annual picnic in their wonderful grounds. The walled garden area is again the venue for the 2017 event and, as space is limited, entries will be accepted from the first 150 entries received by Wednesday 15th August 2018 – ENTER NOW TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.

As we will be in a completely enclosed walled garden area this year, it is important that all cars are in place by 12.30pm as the entrance gate to the area will be closed at that time and no access will be allowed after 13.00pm.

PLEASE NOTE: We will NOT be posting out entry numbers this year – you will be allocated your entry number from the IVVCC marquee, after you have parked in the walled area. Please also note that any family members planning to join the entrant must enter with the car or subsequently must park in the general public parking area, thus entering through the Powerscourt House reception area, paying the appropriate Powerscourt Gardens entry fee.

We will provide a large marquee in the event of the day turning inclement so that you may enjoy your picnic in comfort among friends. At the request of Powerscourt management, musical entertainment is not permitted in this area. Please note: Dogs are not permitted in the walled garden or any of the Powerscourt inner gardens. Entrants have access to the gardens from the walled area so it is not necessary to issue complimentary garden tickets this year.

In order to facilitate an orderly display of our historic vehicles, it is important that all entrants adhere to Marshals’ requests when parking the cars.

Cars should not exit the area before 17.30pm unless under Marshal’s escort.

Voting slips will be provided so that entrants may choose their favourite cars in the following categories:

Pre-War Open Tourer
Pre-War Saloon Post War Open Tourer
Post-War Saloon
The Jim Fitzgerald Perpetual Trophy for the Best Ford on the day

The Slazenger Powerscourt Perpetual Trophy will be chosen by a representative of the Slazenger family for their favourite vehicle on the day.

To add to the sense of the occasion we would encourage people to make a particular effort to dress in an outfit appropriate to the era of their car. There will be a special prize for the Best Dressed in Period Costume.
