Registration Survey Results John Larkin recently asked members and old car enthusiasts to participate in an online survey to assess their willingness to pay for the privilege of retaining UK registrations on imported pre 1987 vehicles and the re-issuing of old Irish registration. There has been a very positive response to the survey, it has now ended and the results are available here. John would welcome your comments, please email him at jfllarkin@gmail.com

Autumn Rally This year's rally was held on Sunday the 7th of October and started from the Applegreen Service Station on the M1. In extremely pleasant weather it travelled along some very scenic roads through North County Dublin and County Meath. The event was a great success with a large turnout of both people and cars. Some photographs are available here
Beaulieu Autojumble For many years, members have travelled in large numbers on their annual pilgrimage to Beaulieu for the International Autojumble. This year the IVVCC setup a stand as a rest and meeting point for all Irish visitors. Friendly faces provided refreshments to the large number of Irish and foreign visitors to our stand. This is the first time the club has had a stand at the event, judging by the extremely favourable reaction this huge success is bound to be repeated in future years.
One of our youngest members Kevin Boland (17) is on a charity climb and record breaking attempt to get the largest group of students to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Kevin is carrying an IVVCC flag with him as a thank you to all our members who supported him so generously in his fund raising for Our Lady's Children's Hospital and the Adi Roche's Chernobyl Children's charity. Tonight's the night that, after six days climbing the group should reach the summit, Not quite on top of the world but at 5,895m it's close!. The club sends it's best wishes to Kevin and all the climbers on this momentous day. You can read about the groups progress on Ian McKeevers Kilimanjaro Achievers Facebook page.
The 35th Anniversary Powerscourt Picnic took place on Sunday the 19th of August.
One hundred and sixty five cars attended with all classes being well represented.
The event attracted a large number of visitors who derived great pleasure from and showed great interest in the cars.
The very impressive line-up of cars had something to suit all tastes.
Picnics, fun and banter were the order of the day and helped by the unexpected good weather, a great family day was had by all.

August First Monday Our August First Monday began with a drive from the Spawell to Blessington. We stopped at our meeting point where we were joined by our friends from the Blessington Club, relaxed in the sunshine, chatted and enjoyed the fun watching members of both clubs demonstrate their skill in gauging the length of their car. We then went for a leisurely drive by the lakes through Valleymount, Hollywood and on to Pollaphuca where we stopped at Pollaphuca House for tea, sandwiches, some more fun trials and lots of banter. Many thanks, to our friends in the Blessington Club for their hard work and hospitality. Please visit our Gallery section for Photos.
Terenure Show Despite persistent rain on the day, club members attended in large numbers at the IJDC's Car show. The Show held in Terenure College on Sunday 8th July attracted approximately 1,420 cars dating from 1894 to the present day. The IVVCC stand had a very impressive line-up of circa 90 cars with all classes from antique to classic being well represented in a very striking layout. The IVVCC was also represented on other stands with fifteen members displaying their cars on the Evolution of Motoring stand. Two cars from the IVVCC stand were selected by the show's judges. "Car of the Show" was won by Shane Houlihan for his 1937 Lagonda Rapide LG45. "Best Pre War Car" went to Willie Bryans for his 1929 Franklin 130 Sedan. See photos here.
July First Monday BBQ The IVVCC mid-summer barbecue held on Monday 2nd July started with a drive form the Spawell to the Glenview Hotel in Co. Wicklow.
